Women on Stage
Women on Stage is a spoken word poetry program designed for women over the age of thirty, exploring their inherent talent and prompting their expressive talent.
What we do
Women on Stage encourages women identifying participants to become a passionate voice for themselves and their communities.
Learning Outcomes
Women on Stage introduces spoken word poetry as a medium of creative expression to women from various communities. The workshops bring forth stories of marginalized women through poetry.
Activities
Partnering with national level organizations and women's groups, we work with three to six groups of women, introducing them to spoken word poetry through readings, discussions and performances. Participants will participants in workshops and work on their poems over the next few months. The final poems will be showcased at an event and published in a chapbook.
